Justin Strickland founded Strickland Brothers 10 Minute Oil Change in 2016 after years of working toward his dream of owning a quick lube business. His journey began when his PawPaw gifted him a $35,000 check to open his first shop.

Named after his two sons, Tate and Beckett, Strickland Brothers was built on strong family values and a commitment to serving drivers with care. Old-fashioned customer care and keeping communities moving remain at the heart of everything we do.

OUR HISTORY

Strickland Brothers began with one location in Thomasville, North Carolina, in 2016 and has grown into one of the fastest-growing drive-thru oil change brands in the United States. Today, our locations span dozens of states, and we continue expanding each year. What started as a single shop has grown into a nationwide brand built on speed, service, and trust.

EARLY BEGINNINGS: 2010

Justin begins his career as a technician under Mark Agan and dreams of owning a business to better support his growing family.

THE START: MAY 2012

Justin partners with Mark to buy a gas station in Welcome, NC and does whatever it takes to keep it afloat. Justin sets his sights on opening his own oil change shop.

grandfather’s gift: september 2012

After facing repeated rejection from lenders and investors, Justin’s grandfather, “PawPaw,” steps in and changes everything. He takes out a loan against the family home and surprises Justin with a $35,000 check to help him launch his first quick lube business.

Launching Taterbugs Drive Thru Oil Change: OCTOBER 2012

Justin and Mark open their first quick lube shop in Greensboro, NC, and name it Taterbugs after Justin’s son, Tate. They sell the gas station, focus fully on growing the business, and soon sell Taterbugs to build a national brand.

Strickland Brothers is Born: December 2016

Strickland Brothers 10 Minute Oil Change opens its first location in Thomasville, NC. Justin names the company after his two sons, Tate and Beckett, and launches a tradition of placing “PawPaw’s benches” outside every shop to honor his grandfather.

Second Shop Opens: May 2018

The second location of Strickland Brothers 10 Minute Oil Change opens in King, NC. Justin continues his pursuit of building a nationwide brand focused on customer-first service and drive-thru oil changes. Strickland Brothers introduces the “Road to Thirty” plan to expand into 30 communities within 36 months.

Building the Foundation: December 2019

Strickland Brothers 10 Minute Oil Change completes its third year with 13 total locations.

Accelerating Forward: December 2020

Strickland Brothers 10 Minute Oil Change continues to expand with 24 total locations by the end of the year.

Over 60 Strong: December 2021

Now in year five, Strickland Brothers 10 Minute Oil Change ends the year with over 60 locations across the nation.

Growth With Car Wash Acquisitions: June 2022

Strickland Brothers 10 Minute Oil Change acquires Trademark Car Wash and Quick Shine Car Wash to provide customers with a high-quality car wash experience.

Momentum Builds: December 2022

Strickland Brothers 10 Minute Oil Change continues its growth with over 150 locations open by the end of the year and over 200 locations in development.

Expanding Nationwide: Today

Today, Strickland Brothers 10 Minute Oil Change operates over 280 locations (and growing) across 27 states. The company remains committed to delivering superior service and making a positive impact in every community it serves.
